A) 2571    B) 3456    C) 3156    D) 4532    E) none

Explanation:

Let, Male at A is 7x, Female 6x. Female at C is 7x + 750,

Male at D is 12x + 250 and Female is 2550.

Now according the question,

\frac{{12x + 250}}{{2550}} = \frac{{11}}{{15}}

180x + 3750 = 28050

\Rightarrow x = 135

Putting the value of x we get Female at

A=6 x 135 = 810, Male at A= 7 x 195 = 945

Female at C =7 x 135 + 750 = 1695.

Male at C is 810 x 2 = 1620,

Male at D = 12 x 135 + 250 = 1870.

Now total Male is 5655. So male at B is (5655 - (945 + 1620 + 1870)] = 1220.

ANSWERS With Explanations

1) C

Explanation:

From B 25% female doing MBA.

i.e. \frac{{1220 \times 25}}{{100}} = 305

From D 20% female doing MBA

i.e. \frac{{2550 \times 20}}{{100}} = 510

Total Female doing MBA from these is

305 +510 = 815

Answer: 815

2) A

Explanation:

Total male in all the organization are

(945 + 1220 + 1620 + 1870) = 5655

So the average is 5655 ➗ 4 = 1413.75 = 1414

Answer: 1414

3) D

Explanation:

Total people of A is 810 + 945 = 1755

So people work in IT is-= 1755 \times \frac{2}{9} = 390

Answer: 390

4) B

Explanation:

Total people of B is 1220 + 1220 = 2440

12.5% is above 30

So, above 30 age is \frac{{2440 \times 12.5}}{{100}} = 305

Total people of D is 2550 + 1870 = 4420

Above 30 is 25%, so above 30% is \frac{{4420 \times 25}}{{100}} = 1105

So the ratio of above 30 age of D and Bis,

1105 : 305 = 221 : 61

Answer: 221 : 61

5)A

Explanation:

In C total female is is 1695. 20% resigned. So working is 80%.

80% of 1695 is \frac{{1695 \times 80}}{{100}} = 1356

Total male resigned is 1620. 25% resigned. 75% is still working,

Total male working is 1215.

Total people working is = 2571

Answer: 2571

Directions (Qs. 6 - 9): In a college, there are four branches ECE, CE, ME, and EE. They are offering two types of courses, M.tech and B.Tech. Seat for different courses are different. Ratio of total seat capacity in ME and ECE is 7:6. In ME seat capacity of M.tech is 30. Total seat capacity of CSE is 60% of the seat capacity of EE. Total B.tech seats in all deptariments together are 330. M.Tech seat at EE is 33.33% of B.tech at EE. B.Tech and M.tech seat ratio in CSE is 3: 1. Total students in CSE is 60. In ECE, B.Tech : MTech is 5:1.

6. College want to increase 40% B.tech seats in ECE and 20 seat in ME. Seat of the other two is same. Then total seats in B.tech now is?

A) 540     B) 234     C) 390     D) 240     E) None of these

7. In one year, 80% seats are filed up and in M.tech 60% seats are filled up. Then what is the total no. of vacant seas in ECE?

A) 28     B) 32     C) 38     D)18     E) None

8. Find ratio of B.tech seats in ME and CSE together with M.Tech seats of ECE and EE together?

A) 31:3     B) 37:12     C) 3:4     D) 31:9     E) None

9. In which branch difference of B.tech and M.Tech seats capacity are lowest?

A) ME     B) ME&ECE     C) ECE     D)CSE&EE     E) None

Explanation:

Let, total seats at ME dept. is 7x. and Ece is 6x. M.tech seats in ME is 30, B. tech seats in ME is 7x-30,

B.tech seats : M.tech seats in ECE is 5: 1

Let, 5x is B.tech seat and x is M.tech seat.

Now if seats in CSE is 60. So EE seats is 100.

B.tech seats in CSE is = 60 \times \frac{3}{4} = 45

B. tech : Mech ratio 3: 1 in CSE

M.tech in CSE is = 60-45 = 15

In EE, M.tech seats are 33.33% of B.tech seats. Total seats are 100. So B.tech has 75 and M.tech has 25 seats.

Total B.tech seats in college is 330.

So, 330 = 5x +7x-30+45+75

Or, 12x = 240 => x =20

Putting the value we get all the B.tech and M.tech seats

Answers:

6-C

Explanation:

40% B.tech seats increase in ECE so total B.tech is now 140. 20 seat increase in ME.

Total seat increase in B.tech is 60.

Total B.tech seat is now 330 + 60= 390

7-A

Explanation:

Total B.tech seats in ECE is 100

80% is fill up, so the vacant B.tech seat is 20%, Total M.tech seats are 20. 60% is fill up,

Vacant M.tech seats  \frac{{20 \times 40}}{{100}} = 8

Vacant seats in ECE is 20 + 8 = 28

8-D

Explanation:

Total B.tech seats in ME and CSE = 110 +45 =155

Total M.tech in ECE and EE

Respective ratio = 155:45 = 31:9

9-B

Explanation:

In ECE difference is 20, ME is 20, CSE is 30, EE is 50.

So difference lowest in both ME and ECE.

Total sell in March at P is 330. R sold 10% more than in March,

So, at R in March total sell is 363. In April total sell at R is 783 ~ 363 = 420

Total at Q is 800. So at Q in March 320.

in April at P total sell is \frac{{320 \times 125}}{{100}} = 400

Total sell in March is 1324, at T, sell in March is 1324 ~ 330 - 320 - 363 = 311

Total sell in April is = \frac{{1324 \times 125}}{{100}} = 1655

in April totall selling of T is

1655 - 400 - 480 -420 = 355

Answers:

10) C

Total sell of P in both months are 330 + 400 =730.

Total sell of Q in both months are 320 + 480 = 800

So, required percent is \left( {\frac{{730}}{{800}}} \right) \times 100 = 91.25\%

11) A

Total Sell in April is = 400 + 480 + 420 + 355 = 1655

So the average is  \frac{{1655}}{4} = 413.75

12) D

Total sell in R is 363 + 420 = 783

Total sell in T is = 311 + 355 = 666

So required ratio is = 783 : 666 = 87:74

13) B

Sell at P in june is at \frac{{400 \times 120}}{{100}} = 480

Q in June is \frac{{480 \times 125}}{{100}} = 600

Total sell in June is 480 + 600 = 1080

14) A

Total amount sell at P in March is 330 x 5 = 1650

Total amount sell at R in March is 363 x 4 = 1452

So, total amount = 1650 + 1452 = 3102
