 Relation between System Software and Application Software

To understand the relation between the system software and the application software, consider the figure shown on the screen. In this figure:
⇒ Each circle represents an interface point. The inner core is the hardware and the outer core is the user.
⇒ In order to work with the system, the user has to use the application software.
⇒ The application software in turn interacts with the operation system, which is a part of the system software.
⇒ The system software provides a direct interaction with the hardware.
